MacPractice MD utilizes the state-of-the-art, industrial strength MySQL 5.0 database at its core and capitalizes on all current and future Apple technologies, especially the security built into Mac OS X. Apple also relys on MySQL technology for its products.

MacPractice MD, even without MacPractice EMR, features basic EMR with MacPractice Rx, MacPractice Notes (with extensive merge fields and templates), MacPractice Images (Photos), and MacPractice Attachments (attach any file, including transcription, or scanned document, to a patient).

MacPractice offers bidirectional HL7 bridges and unidirectional text bridges to several third party EMR products including SpringCharts® EMR and ComChart.
